New fork kit

Postby Peterp1per » Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:47 am

I fitted the 'low cost' standard disc fork kit to my M50 and there are two things I need to sort out.
The side stand is now too short, I am hoping if I get one for the 10" wheel it will fix that.
The speedo now reads about 7mph high, so I imagine it is calibrated for a bigger wheel.
I don't think that one is so easily fixed. Any ideas please?

are you sure its the standard one and not the longer set, as really it should be a straight swap .

I guess so, but the error is about 25% which is what you would get from an 8" 10" change.
Dont really care, suppose a big blob of tippex at the true 30 mph point is the answer, loads of cameras round here.
I think the side stand may be ok, I was on a slopey driveway at the time.
Thanks for your replies it's appreciated.

What is the length of the fork - from axle to top of yoke?

It's 500mm. Honestly I think this was my mistake and it is ok.
