going to have a bash at taking it apart and checking the kick start etc.....so where do i get new gaskets from and what they called for when i pop it back together.
and also where is the best place to source new parts if the gears are worn..

many thanks :)

right...took the engine apart as you so kindly popped the photos on - line...
the kick start shaft appers ok.
however... the 2nd (middle) and 3rd small kickstart gears are missing teeth.
Also the crank case has a hair line fracture in it where the shaft and bearings are where the clutch sits on.
think its called the right hand side crank case.
bummer!!!

does the crank case need replacing if i just replace the kick start gears? or will the situation get worse over time....
is it common problem for this time of issue?
everything else appers ok tho.
took some pics but cant work out how to put them online :?

Yep it,s a common thing amongst Chinky stuff i,m afraid. , some times ya get a decent one, other times it,s not worth a toss.
Probably better off scrapping it, and searching for a new one. ;) , just keep bits that may work and stick em on,t bay....somebody might need summat.

Just happens i got a brand new Lifan 150, still in box with all bits (carb/air filter/oil cooler/cooler pipes/ banjos/washers/cdi/short loom/kickstarter/gear selector).
If ya interested.. 8-)

So it,s ya transmission gears that,s f u cked, not ya kickstart shaft...???? :?
Dont even try to replace gears with out re-newing crank case first, this may be what sheared teeth off in first play, (play). :o , you,ll be just throwing good money after bad. :x
OOracing and Rhino-bloke, dont seem to have much bits for the Lifan150 engine(apart from a Gasket set)...dunno why.
Got loads for 140/125,s ..??? :?
Keep an eye out on Ebay, somebody usually breaks a engine, with useable bits ya needing.

If ya stuck, try this bloke in Germany, he,s usually got a load of Lifan bits. (got a crank off him) 8-)
