Tyre recommendations?

As I mentioned elsewhere I bought a New Lifan LF110GF3-Y.
Scabby, rattly little beast but I love it already!
It came as standard with a pair of real Farmers on the rims and I reckon they are part of the rattle, bad for economy and not especially good for the handlig

What do people reckon is a good tyre for the 10" wheel size? I'm a coward on wet roads these days so I want summat that'll hold with my nervous twitches in the rain but mainly a good smooth tyre for chucking the bike around when I feel up to it.

If that's the dax replica standard tyre would be 3.5x10,but I've seen slightly bigger ones also fitted,4x10 which would be about 100/80 x 10 in new money. I was advised not to go below the 80 profile and beyond the 110,maybe 120 wide,as it will pitch the tyre crown on STD rims(2.5"wide).

I have maxxis on my gorilla and they are pretty good and cheap too but i run them tubeless.

I'll do some checking about with the local bike dealer before Fleabuy as they're decent people (Shepherds in Lancaster) and I'll give them myh trade when I can.
