Fitting a Honda 'Nice' 110 engine
Relax, it's only confusing if you try to figure out the whole wiring scheme in one sitting. I ran into no problems with my Nice conversion and the wire loom was a JDM dax, converted to Z108 + 12v to 6v rectifier. You only need to be concerned with 6 wires coming from the engine and from there it's a process of elimination.
Firstly, the light green/red tr wire is the neutral light, same as all Hondas. This is part of the gear indicator wiring above the countershaft.
Engine stator wires: green = ground (earth), blue/yellow = CDI trigger pulse, black/red tr = power to CDI, yellow and white wires = gen to regulator/rectifier.
CDI box is as follows: three connectors across the top, two at the bottom, with the "empty" spot in the center of the bottom row of the connector.
Green is the ground (earth)...this is the "common" lead for the loom as well. It corresponds to the upper left position on the CDI box plug.
Blue/yellow tr goes to the lower left on the CDI box plug.
Black/red tr goes to the upper right on the CDI box plug.
Upper center on the CDI goes to the ign switch, corresponds to blk/w on the Nice loom.
Lower right on the CDI goes to the coil and corresponds to blk/y on the Nice loom.
Regulator/rectifier wiring as follows: upper left = red, upper right =y, lower left = w, lower right = g
Regulator/rectifier wiring was the same for Honda Dax, Z110 & Nice, don't know about jc. The yellow lead from the stator goes to the positive bus in the bike wire loom and corresponds with the upper right of the regulator, white lead from the stator goes to the lower left of the regulator. Red lead to the regulator goes to the battery, green to ground(earth).
A lot to process, I realise, but take it one wire at a time and it's easier than it sounds.
